Unorganized townships also get these funds, which are paid through their county.

"The amount allocated to unorganized townships under this section must be credited by the county treasurer to a special fund for unorganized township roads."

2023 Senate Bill 2183 Provided twenty million dollars for snow removal expenses, June 2023.

2023 Senate Bill 2015 Section 5 Added five million to SB 2183 if needed.

 

2021 House Bill 1505, Section 7 (Special Session) Township Distribution by County

Federal coronavirus capital projects fund and federal state fiscal recovery fund.

$8.5 Million equal allocations per township and $8.5 Million based on maintained miles of roadway.

Provided $5,208.33 per congressional township and $181.99 per maintained mile of township roads in non-oil counties; paid January 2022.

 

2021 House Bill 1015, Section 4 Distribution by County

$8.2 Million from the Disaster Relief Fund and $1.8 Million from the Tax Relief Fund, distributed based on maintained miles of roadway.

$10 Million from the Tax Relief Fund to be distributed in equal allocations per township.

Provided $6,127.45 per congressional township and $224.11 per maintained mile of township roads in non-oil counties; paid August 2021.

 

2019 Senate Bill 2016 Section 4

Appropriated $8.1 Million from Disaster Relief to townships in non-oil-producing counties, $5,000 each.

 

2015 Senate Bill 2103 “Surge Bill” – March 2015.

Appropriated $16M to non-oil producing townships by allocating $10,000 to each qualifying township.

2015 House Bill 1012, Section 8 – February 2016.

Appropriated $8M to non-oil producing townships by allocating $5,000 to each qualifying township. Due to allotment, this per township amount was reduced to $4,990.89 each.

 

2013 Senate Bill 2176, Section 2  Township Distributions by County

$16 Million of General Funds to townships in non-oil counties based on miles of maintained roadways.

$20 Million of General Funds to townships in non-oil counties in equal allocations.

Provided $14,716.70 per congressional township and $375.38 per maintained mile of township roads in non-oil counties; paid February 2013.

 

2013 House Bill 1358 – performed July 2013 & May 2014.

Appropriated $8.76M (two separate distributions of $15K per township) to townships in lower oil-producing counties (Bottineau, Golden Valley, McLean, Renville & Slope).

 

2011 Senate Bill 2371 (special session) – performed April of 2012.

In part the bill appropriated $1.7 M to the non-oil-producing townships using the TRBF formula as the basis for distributing these funds;

Another part of the appropriation allocated $14.5M to the townships in the non-oil producing counties by allocating $10,000 to each organized and unorganized township in each qualifying county.

 

2011 House Bill 1012 Appropriated $12,000,000 to the townships in the non-oil-producing counties through two separate distributions. Both of the distributions were paid based on miles of maintained township roads.

Section 5 Provided the first distribution of $7,000,000, ($159.56 per mile), which was sent out in June of 2011.

Section 6 Provided the second distribution of $5,000,000, which was performed in March of 2012.
